Betty Jo Reed-Harvell, was a perfect gift from God, as all gifts from God are. She was born October 5, 1939 in the small town of Newberry, South Carolina, to the late James Lindsay and mother Lucile Lindsay. Betty was the younger of two girls born of James and Lucile. Her older sister was the late Barbara Jean Bishop. After graduating from High School she moved to Detroit, Michigan where she continued her education, attending a local business college. She later returned to her home of Newberry where she married Willie T. Reed Jr. (Ret. Sgt Major) and started her family---:her daughter Rachael Yvette Douglas, and her son Anthony Bernard Reed. She traveled many places as a military wife while raising her family. She settled and made her permanent residence in E1 Paso, Texas in 1978. She worked at EI Paso National bank for eighteen years in the Trust Department where she acquired many life long friends. She later married Rev. John Lee Harvell and they shared sixteen sweet years of marriage together. The Lord has called her Home with Him in heaven on September 9, 2007. For us remaining behind it is very difficult to let her go; however, we trust God and we know that He loves her best. We will miss her tremendously-she was so patient, very caring and exceedingly giving person of her time and her love. Remaining here and preparing to meet our beloved Betty in heaven is her mother, Lucile Lindsay; Husband Rev. John Lee Harvell; Daughter Rachael and husband John Douglas Jr.; Son Anthony Reed; Grandchildren Reginald Anthony Bowden, Stephanie Nicole Douglas, Jessieca Lindsay Douglas, Brandon Scott Reed, and Lindseay Nicole Reed; Great grandson Avery Anthony Bowden; Brothers Marvin Lindsay and wife Dorothy, and James Lindsay; Nieces Debra Williams, Antoinette Suber, Deatrice Banner; Nephews Johnnie Caldwell and wife Charlene, and Adrian Bishop; Sisters-in-law Rev.
