Celia Bellamy was born June 6, 1926 to the late Alberta and Ransom Timothy Gurganious. She was the 11th of 12 children. Blue, as she was affectionally called grew up in the Red Bank community of Atkinson. At an early stage she confessed to her love for Christ and was a of Lakes Chapel where she served faithfully. She attended and worked for the Pender County School System. Celia met and married the late Prince Bellamy of Atkinson, NC. They relocated to Brooklyn, NY. She enjoyed coming back home to visit her church and families and friends. Celia Bellamy was my Aunt, my Dads baby sister, she never had children of her own but was a caretaker for her nieces and nephews at any given time. She loved us and we all loved her. She was a devout Eastern Star and I always enjoyed attending her functions and seeing her in her Eastern Star regalia. you never asked her a question or for her opinion if you were not prepared to hear the truth. On December 2, 2019 God in his infinite wisdom called our beloved Celia was called home to a beautiful and lasting place. Celia leaves to mourn her baby brother Harvey Gurganious of Atkinson, a God-daughter Karen Yates, best friends Mary Brown,Emily Williams, Ms Dash, Queenie Hobbs and Sister Rankin, all residing in Brooklyn as well as nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews too numerous to name.
