Karen L. Busch passed away from natural causes at her home in
Peoria, Arizona on September 5, 2007. She was born to Richard and Carolyn Fante in Grand Junction on February 15, 1952. She spent her childhood in Grand Junction and graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1970. She went on to attend Biola University and ultimately graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 1974. Karen married Mick Busch, also of Grand Junction, in 1974, and they were married for 31 years. They were blessed with two wonderful children: Allyson and Matthew. A fitness enthusiast her entire life, Karen operated an aerobics company in the Phoenix area for many years. She then taught elementary school in the Phoenix public school system and most recently was a sales representative for Kendall/Hunt Publishing Company. Karen enjoyed running and completed numerous races, including one marathon, always with a friend or family member alongside. Her recent passion was ballroom dancing and she excelled in many national dance competitions. Karen was the most rare kind of mother, succeeding in being both a guiding light and a dearest friend. She will always be remembered for the incredible zeal with which she tackled everything in life. Her pure faith, sacrificial nature, unceasing sense of humor and encouraging spirit were apparent to everyone who met her. Words cannot possibly express how much she will be missed by those of us who love her. A Celebration of Life service, "KarenFest 2007," will be held in Phoenix, Arizona, followed by a graveside burial service in Grand Junction, Colorado.
