Joyce Ann Conyers, daughter of the late Chester Conyers, and JoAnn Terry, was born on March 15, 1961, in Raleigh, North Carolina. She departed this life to be with Our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, August 21st, 2020 at Duke Raleigh Hospital. Joyce wholeheartedly chose after high school, to resume her life as a dedicated stay at home mother, raising her three children, within inner city Raleigh, NC. She held jobs before having all three children, inclusive of working as a Deli Clerk at the State of North Carolina's Education Building. Joyce also worked as a Dietary Aid, in which she enjoyed. After her third child, Joyce dedicated her life to her kids, bringing them up, during their early childhood, becoming members of Macedonia United Church of Christ (Formerly known as Laodecia). Joyce was baptized in 1993, at the Upper Room Church of God In Christ. Joyce was known as 'a mother to the community'. She always took time to nurture, guide, protect, and even keep other children, friends of her own kids. Joyce believed that 'it takes a village' and she implemented her beliefs by raising her kids in sports and other art activities. Joyce instilled education and family in her children. She bonded closely with all three of them. Joyce spent her late years, actively being involved with Club Horizon, a recreational & vocational program, where she worked on fine tuning her daily lifestyle skills. No matter the circumstance, or disability barrier Joyce faced, she always strived to be independent and happy. She loved to travel with Club Horizon, to the beach, the coast, and the mountains. Joyce volunteered at the clubhouse, working in the snack shop. Family time was also a necessity in Joyce's life, and she enjoyed all of the holiday/birthday family gatherings, especially Thanksgiving.
Joyce leaves to cherish her precious memories and mourn her passing; her three children, one son and two daughters. She also leaves two sisters, one brother, one grandchild, two step-grandchildren, and a host of other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
