Graveside services and interment for Edna Jean Jared Bruce, 81, of Silver Point, will be Monday, September 7 11:00 AM at Palmer Cemetery in Silver Point. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 to 8 PM at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. There will be no visitation at the funeral home on Monday, family and friends will gather at the cemetery for the service.

Mrs. Bruce died Thursday, September 3, 2020 at her son's home in Silver Point.

She was born September 3, 1939 in Kingston to the late William Nelson and Ressie Etta Miles Hendricks.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands: Hugh Curtis Ward, Thurman Dean Jared, daughter Linda Jo Ward, grandson Kyle Jared, sisters Loretta Ferguson, Sue Hensley and Linda Faye Hendricks, brothers Dave and Bud Hendricks.

She loved her family and spending time with them, she enjoyed scrapbooking and was a great cook. She was a woman of all seasons.

She attended Stevens Street Baptist Church. She served with her lay leader husband, Ray at Bethany Methodist Church from 2001-2003, working with the ladies who loved and appreciated her as a leader. She served with Ray as a supply pastor at Curry's Chapel Methodist for a short time. She traveled to Montana with Stevens Street Baptist and ministered to the Native American children in 2005. Ray said "It was a joy and privilege being the husband of such a beautiful, talented woman, we had some great years traveling together. The 31st chapter of Proverbs, starting with the 10th verse describes Edna Jean".

Survivors include husband Ray Bruce of Silver Point, daughters Darlene (Tom) Davis of Clarksville, Della (Tracy) Hyde of Silver Point, sons Terry Dean (Sheila) Jared of Silver Point and Danny Thurman Jared of Sparta, brother George (Dianne) Hendricks of Decatur, TN., 8 grandchildren: Justin (Kael) Hyde, Tiffany Hyde, Mathew (Bailey) Davis, Christopher Davis, Alex Davis, JoDonn (Sarah) Jared, Dristin Jared and Tyler Jared, great-grandchildren; Addi and Elowen Hyde, Bryleigh and Brayden Jared, brothers and sisters-in-law Bobby Bruce, Calbert Bruce, Peggy Chapman, Carol Harrel and Shirley Putman.

Active Pallbearers will be Justin Hyde, Mathew Davis, Christopher Davis, Alex Davis, Dristin Jared, Tyler Jared, Tony Ferguson and Darin Hendricks.
