Raymond Eugene Babcock, 88, of Tiffin, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 3, 2020 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family. Raymond was born November 23, 1931 to the late Mabel Gregg and Ralph Babcock of Sycamore. He was a loving husband to his surviving spouse of 67 years, Norma Jean (Ohl) Babcock, whom he married on February 27, 1953. Also surviving are his five children, Chris (Dee) Babcock of Aledo, TX, Robin (Mike) Hull of Tiffin, Cindy (Jeff) Miller of Findlay, Roxanne (Ron) Roush of Republic, and Mark (Jacquie) Babcock of Leavenworth, KS; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Other survivors include his brother, Julian Babcock of Laytonville, CA. Ray was preceded in death by a brother, Gregg Babcock.

Ray lived life to the fullest, enjoying harness racing, cards, fishing, and golfing, which included a hole in one at Clinton Heights Golf Course. Traveling throughout the United States with Norma in their RV, they spent their winters at their home in Leesburg, Florida. Ray served in the United States Marine Corp. and is a Veteran of the Korean War. He is a life member of Tiffin VFW Post 2858, a member and past Master of Tiffin Masonic Lodge #77, a 32nd Degree Mason as well as Past President of the Zenobia Shriners, Toledo. He was a member of Republic Trinity United Methodist Church and a retired Tiffin Rural Postal Carrier.

The Babcock Family would like to acknowledge the Hufford family as they have been close friends for more than 50 years and also wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Christopher Sears, and Stein Hospice for their exemplary care to Ray and the family during this very difficult time.

Friends may visit from 2 – 6 p.m. on Monday, September 7, 2020 at HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500) with a Masonic Service beginning at 5:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 8th in the funeral home with Pastor Charlene Thomas of Republic Trinity United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Sycamore with the United Veterans Council of Seneca County conducting full military rites. It is Ray's wishes that memorials be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, St. Jude Children's Hospital, Republic Trinity United Methodist Church, or Stein Hospice.
