Betty Jane Davis Burchette, age 85, of North Wilkesboro, passed away, Saturday, August 22, 2020 at the home of her daughter. She was born February 11, 1935 in Wilkes County to Floyd S. and Janey Ellis Davis. Mrs. Burchette was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading her Bible, embroidery, quilting, collecting herbs and wildflowers, and making lye soap. She was a member of Wilkes County Quilters Guild and Wilkes County Homemakers (Home Extension). She also enjoyed researching her family history. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Burchette; three brothers; and two sisters.
She is survived by her daughters, Ruth Ann Brown and spouse Wayne, Sandra Mathis and spouse Steve all of North Wilkesboro, Teresa Burchette Rose and spouse Tony of Elkin, Sharon D. Burchette and the late Roger Smith of Parrish, Florida; son, Floyd Burchette of North Wilkesboro; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; three sisters; and two brothers.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at Bethany Baptist Church on Bethany Ford Road with Rev. James Wingler officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Miller Funeral Service from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Monday night.
