In the year of 1879 he was united in marriage to Rachel Catherine Mossholder. To this union was born eight children, six boys and two girls. Mrs. Lucy Abbott, Mrs. Florence Peterson, Franklin, Lester, Oakie, Howard, Frances and Roscoe, all of whom reside in Vernon County. He had 19 grandchildren 4 of which hav epassed on before him, three brothers and 4 sisters living. They are James and Frank of Rice Lake, Wis; Daniel of Dell, Mrs. Sam Clark of La Farge, Mrs. Carrie Anderson of Park Rapids, Minnesota, Mrs. Maryetta Adams of Racine and Mrs. George Heisner of Rhinelander, Wisconsin.
Mr. Alderman had heart trouble and has been in failing health for the past ten years. Kind hands and loving care could not prolong his life and he passed away on the morning of March 3, 1927 at the age of 69 years and 11 months. He was a kind husband, father, neighbor and friend and will be sadly mourned by all who knew him.
Funeral services were at the house and at the Sugar Grove M. E. church at 11:00 A. M. Sunday March 6th. Rev. C. H. Pierstorff officiating. Burial was made in the Sugar Grove cemetery.
