Alexandria Marie Albaugh, 21, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 21, 2020 from complications of Juvenile Batten's Disease. She was born in Meadville on October 12, 1998.
Alex showed strength and courage in her long fight with Battens. She never let her disabilities stop her from enjoying her life to the fullest. She played on the Toms River Challenger Baseball league 2009 thru 2011. Also attended Helen Diller blind camp 2008 thru 2015 and Grandma Camp each summer. She graduated from Toms River High School East, where she received a standing ovation.
She was preceded in death by her sister Audreanna Esteel Albaugh on October 19, 2014.
She is survived by her parents Joseph and Christine, brother Joseph of Toms River, NJ; sister Coreena and mother Melissa of Chesapeake, VA, sister Ashley Hotchkiss of Meadville; her grandparents, Richard and Audrey Albaugh of Meadville, Richard and Nachelle Davis of East Stroudsburg, PA; aunts and uncles, Arthur (Mary) Kitch of Medina, OH Jeanette Kitch of Meadville, Richard (Gail) Albaugh Jr of Bloomfield, NY Shirley Anthony of Meadville, Donald (Tracy) Albaugh Sr of Cochranton, Jay (Marlene) Kitch of Greenville and Bridget Davis of Toms River, NJ and many cousins and friends who loved her dearly.
Alex was a beautiful soul whose smile could light up a room. She was sweet and spicy and all things girly. She never missed an opportunity to join in cheerleading practice, attend a school dance, shopping at the mall or enjoy her favorite snack. She truly was a princess on Earth. She enjoyed movies, music and snuggling, especially cats and babies. She was well known for her "Bear Hugs". Her siblings and cousins meant the world to her. She will be missed by all who knew her.
New Jersey Services - Memorial Mass will be Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 1 P.M. at St. Catharine of Siena Church, 50 E. Street, Seaside Park, New Jersey.
Meadville Services - Family and friends are invited to call at Saint Agatha Roman Catholic Church, 353 Pine Street, Meadville, PA 16335 on Saturday, March 14, 2020 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the Memorial Mass at 12:00 P.M. with Father Matthew Kujawinski as celebrant.
Burial will take place at St. Agatha Cemetery.
