Woody” Wood, 75, of Pensacola, Florida went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, September 7, 2020.
Carroll was born December 27, 1944 in Columbia, South Carolina to Theodore Leroy and Evelyn Baughman Wood. He spent 21 years in the United States Air Force and 21 years Civil Service on Pensacola NAS. Carroll was a member of both Brownsville Assembly of God and Church of His Presence for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, W. Earl Wood, Leroy T. Wood and Charles M. Wood; sister, L. Geneva Meares; brothers-in-law, Bill Eldridge and Bob (Flo) Eldridge.
He is survived by his wife of 49.5 years, Mae L. Wood; daughter, Patricia (Allen) Jones and their sons, Ryan (Felicia) Jones (grandson, Rowan Jones) and Colin Jones; son, Brian (Lara) Wood and their children, Brittany (Clayton) Folk and Christian Wood; daughter, Christine (Robert) Oliver and their children, Wyatt Oliver, Ally Oliver, Mary Oliver, Grace Oliver, and Lilly Oliver; siblings, Shirley (Ted-deceased) Hertz, Gayle (Randy-deceased) Jones, and Linda (Woody-deceased) White; brothers-in-law, Bill Meares, Ken Eldridge, James Eldridge; sisters-in-law, Mable Wood, Frances Wood, Helen (Bill-deceased) Harvey, Lois (Red-deceased) Gaines, Mary Francher as well as many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Brownsville Assembly of God Church with Dr. Evon Horton and Pastor Burke Zack on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 from 10:30am until the service begins at 11:30am with a procession leaving at 12:30pm for burial at Barrancas National Cemetery. Please wear a mask and practice social distancing.
