Norma was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 17, 1941 to J.W. and Effie (King) Allen. She married Monte Nelson on February 4, 1967 in Hazel Park, MI. The couple moved to Mio in 1969. Norma retired from Glen's Market in Grayling, MI where she was a Department Manager. She was a member of the Mio Church of Christ. Norma was a 4-time cancer survivor. She also volunteered for the Red Cross. Norma enjoyed sewing, quilting, crafting, and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed camping with her husband and hosting country jamborees. making comforters.
