Lee was born on November 7, 1911 in Cumberland Center to Henry and Cecil (Wilson) Adams. Lee spent the greatest part of his life in various locations in Maine, but had been residing in Alabama in recent years. Lee had many careers in his long life from driving oil transport and grocery trucks, to owner of a Red & White grocery store in Cumberland, a sawmill operation, a lumber and building materials business and a timber harvesting and logging operation. His passion though, was enjoying the Maine outdoors, from deer hunting to partridge, pheasant, dove, duck and goose hunting. He loved fresh water fishing of any kind whether lakes or streams and just enjoyed catching fish regardless of size. He also did some muskrat trapping in his earlier years.
Lee was preceded in death by two brothers, Belmont and Francis Adams; his son, Lee Adams Jr. and his grandson Lee Adams III.
