Glen Chaney was born on January 15, 1928 in Pulaski County, Kentucky; he was the son of the late Alvin and Stella Randall Chaney. He was united in married for nearly 70 years to Billie Rae Minx Chaney who survives of London, Kentucky. He is also survived by his children, Kathy (Ed) Jones, Glenna Bryant and Cindy (Jimmy) Baker; grandchildren, Brandon (Jill) Jones, Jason (Monica) Jones and Corey Jones all of London; Aaron (Elissa) Wilder of Ft. Myers, Florida; Holly (Keith) Johnson of Owensboro, Kentucky, Lana (Michael) Cochis and Glen Baker both of London. He was blessed with 11 great grandchildren, Ty, Faith, Erin, Ethan, Scarlett and Natalee Jones, Gavin and Daxton Wilder, Max Johnson, Samuel and Nathaniel Cochis; siblings, Doyle, Donald, Benny Chaney and Joyce Saylor all of California; and Exis Casteel of East Bernstadt.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his siblings, Gertrude, Orville, Cleo, Clarence and Jerry Chaney, Clifford and Howard Sewell and Stella Mae Brewer.
The family would like to thank his caregivers, Mike, Dave, Micah and Matthew for their help these past two years.
Glen was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1945 to 1947 and in that time served mostly in Germany. Glen was a former owner and operator of Chaney Lumber and Laminated Timber Inc. He was a member of First Christian Church and had served as an elder and trustee many times. He served in many other organizations during his lifetime, in the Kentucky Forest Industry Association, he was a member of McKee Lodge as a 32nd degree mason for years and was a Shriner for years. He also participated in the Central KY Men for Christ and the Southeastern Kentucky Saddle Club. He was instrumental in the development and oversight of Faith Christian Camp in Annville, Kentucky and served as trustee for several years.
Glen was released from this life at his home, surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, September 12 being 92 years, 7 months and 28 days of age. Jonathan Carmack will officiate the service; burial will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Lily.
