Dan was a retired technician representative for Western Union Telegraph Company. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1957 to 1960.
Survivors include several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, and three sisters, Shirley A. Gaddy, Anita C. Nabors and Judith Kay Travis.
Graveside services for Mr. Travis were at 10 a.m. Wed., March 2, 2005, at the Ryan Cemetery, with Brent Richardson officiating. Burial was under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Ryan.
