At the family home in Spring Creek Township, Saturday evening, October 31, 1896, from paraylsis and heart trouble, Ann Elizabeth Breese, aged 53 years, 5 months and 17 days.

Ann Elizabeth Breese was born in Moreland, Schuyler County, New York, May 14, 1843, and at the age of sixteen emigrated with her parents to Horse Heads, Shemung County [Horseheads, Chemung County], same state, where she received her education in the public schools, later teaching school for several years.

She was married at Horse Heads, July 25, 1866, to C.B. Breese, soon after removing to Tomplins County, New York, near Ithica, where they resided for four years and from which place they removed to Kansas and Spring Creek Township this county, in 1880, where they have since resided. Three children, one son, B.B. Breese--two daughters--Pearl E. and Arteline Breese--reside at the family home.

Deceased became a member of the Christian Church during her residence in New York state and always remained a faithful adherent to its doctrinces, taking great interest in all church and educational work, and was always a willing giver toward all church and charitable cause. As a friend and neighbor she always proved kind, faithful and charitable. As a wife and mother, she was loving and dutiful.

Funeral services were held at the family home Sunday afternoon, being conducted by Rev. Woodruff, of Eldorado. Interment was in the Star Cemetery.
