Donald Ray Brockob, age 89 of Clear Lake, MN, passed away in the comfort of his daughter's home on Monday, August 22, 2016 in Cannon Falls, MN. Don was born on April 25, 1927 in Rolla, North Dakota, the son of Benjamin and Alverda Brockob. Don was a proud, giving husband and father. He married Elizabeth Mae Scheller on December 17, 1948 and they walked side by side for 66 years. An amazing father and grandfather of six children, 18 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren, his goal in life was to provide a comfortable living for his family with his many business ventures. Even during the construction of his own home, he would gladly drop everything to help out with anyone's project, big or small. He loved spending time with family and friends, whether it was at the lake (boating and fishing), deer hunting (a record-setting 19 pt. buck was a bonus!), riding his Harley, or gathering around his kitchen table, entertaining everyone with his "good ole days" stories! During his wife, Betty's prolonged battle with Alzheimer's, Don was completely devoted to making her safe and comfortable. Along with their daughter, Lynette and her family providing loving support and assistance, Don and Betty were able to stay in the home they loved. He will always be remembered and greatly missed by his children, Mike (Jenny), David (Sharon), Daniel (Tamara), Sandy (Robert), Rebecca, and Lynette (Randy). He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth; parents, Benjamin and Alverda; brother, Ralph; and his sisters, Geraldine and Idelaine. We will forever hold him close in our hearts, honoring his memory - until we meet again. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, August 30 at Union Congregational Church in Elk River, MN, with gathering of family and friends at 11:30 a.m., Service at 12 p.m., with luncheon to follow.
