Judy Merriman
68, of Indianapolis, IN passed away peacefully on September 17, 2020 at home surrounded by her family, following a courageous battle with cancer. Judy was born on March 26, 1952 to the late Bernice (Hicks) and James Williams in Toledo, Ohio.

Judy grew up on Indianapolis’ Westside, where she graduated from George Washington High School in 1969. She retired from the United States Postal Service in 2011 after many years of faithful service as a letter carrier.

Her family was everything to her. She enjoyed family reunions, visiting family in Tennessee, going on cruises and vacations with her family. She loved watching her children and grandchildren play sports and was their biggest fan. She was known for her kind, gentle spirit, but was a fierce defender of her family. Most kids in the Mooresville area will remember her for her whistle that could be heard for miles, signaling it was time to come home.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Jean Boston, Joan Guffin and former husband Danny Merriman.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Doug (Tiffanie) Merriman, Lisa (Kevin) Crawford, James (Michelle) Merriman; sister Janie (Ken) Cox; 13 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and her beloved dogs Susie, Lamont, Chewy and Rudy.

Visitation will be held Monday, Sept. 21st from 4-8pm at Carlisle- Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, IN, with services Tuesday at 11am in the funeral home. Burial will follow the services in White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville.
