EDWARD JAMES SISSON, son of Dale and Pauline Fudge Sisson, was born July 22, 1946, in Eldorado, Kansas, and departed this life September 15, 2007, in Lebanon, Missouri.

On October 15, 1991, he was united in marriage with Jean Pelfrey and of this union are four children, who survive.

Ed, as he was known to family and friends, entered the United States Air Force in 1964, and proudly served his country for six years until he was honorably discharged.

In October of 1973, Ed opened KJEL Radio Station for the first time. This was a position that gave him the media experience he needed to join Lebanon Daily Record in 1987. His first assignment was the historical ice storm on Christmas Day of 1987. He became a national award winning columnist. He covered various topics specializing in government, police and courts. He was employed with the newspaper for more then twenty years. He made many life long friends and treasured each one dearly.

Ed was a great fan of sports and music. He enjoyed spending time in his "rock and roll room," and watching his beloved Dallas Cowboys.

He is survived by his wife Jean; two sons, Chris Sisson of Laurie, Missouri and Darren Harting and his wife Angie of Lebanon; two daughters, Katrina Sisson of Springfield, and Cindy Morgan and her husband Vince of Havelock, North Carolina; two sisters, Judy Dotson, and her husband Robert, and Terry Majerak and her husband Joe all of Lebanon; a host of other relatives and friends.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Michael Sisson.
