A Mass of Christian Burial for CLARA L. KENDRICK, a former church choir director and organist, will be offered at 10 a.m., Thursday at St. Mark Catholic Church. Mrs. Kendrick, 91, died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Kathleen Showacre, in Catonsville. She had been ill a short time. A native of Washington, Mrs. Kendrick's antecedents included Reverdy Johnson, an Annapolis lawyer and diplomat who served as a minister to Great Britain in 1868.
Mrs. Kendrick and her husband, Joseph A. Kendrick, Sr., who died in 1961, came to Baltimore and Mrs. Kendrick studied voice privately. Later, she became the organist and choir director of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Ellicott City. She served in that post for about eight years.
In addition to Mrs. Showacre, survivors include two sons, Joseph A. Kendrick, Jr., of Ellicott City; and Brother James Kendrick, C.F.X., of Mount St. Joseph High School.
