Matthew Ralph Anzivino, born February 07, 1929 in Cleveland Ohio to Arlene Lucas and Rocco Anzivino (both deceased): At age 17, he entered the Merchant Marine in the Great Lakes where he served for three years. Matt then joined the United States Air Force where he met his wife of 55 years, Margaret. The last 14 years of his military career, he served as Master Sergeant at Luke Air Force Base in Arizona. He and Margaret made their home here in the Valley. After his 24-year military career, he became a respected educator, touching the lives of hundreds of students. Upon retirement, Matt moved to Sun City West, remaining a devoted husband, father, and brother; friend to many; and formidable Texas Hold-'em poker player. He enjoyed a rich and full life in which those who came to know him felt both fortunate and grateful to have shared. Matthew's time here came to a peaceful end Thursday, September 06, 2007. He is survived by his wife; son Mark; brother Vincent Foglio (deceased); sisters Marie Ambrosetti (deceased), Beverly Kingzett and Joanne Gambosi. A memorial service was held already at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. He will be interred Thursday, September 20, 1PM, at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd., with full honors. All who knew Matthew are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice Inspiris.
