Donald L. Forer, 93, of East Windsor passed away Friday, March 30, 2012, at The Elms of Cranbury. Born in Trout Run, PA, he was a longtime East Windsor resident. He was an honorably discharged U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II. He received the Army of Occupation Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal. He was retired from IBM after many years of service. He then worked at the National Conference Center of Hightstown. He also volunteered at University Medical Center at Princeton. Donald was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hightstown for many years. He was also a member of the Hightstown Apollo Lodge 41, Free and Accepted Masons, VFW Post 5700, American Legion Post 148, Hightstown Elks Lodge 1955, and the Peddie Golf Club. He was an avid golfer and deer hunter. Predeceased by his wife, Betty L. Forer; his daughter, Donna L. Forer, and two brothers, Richard and Alvin Forer, he is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Diane Forer of East Windsor, NJ, and Douglas and Nancy Forer of Pittsboro, NC; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister and her husband, Harriet and John Roby; two sisters-in-law, Lois and Peg Forer; many nieces and nephews, and his devoted caregiver, Mary Ellen Trocchio. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Hightstown, 187 Stockton St., Hightstown, NJ 08520. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Family and friends may call Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Glackin/Saul Funeral Home, 136 Morrison Ave., Hightstown, NJ 08520.
