John F. Slattery

UNIONDALE -- John F. Slattery, 81, of 38 Meadowbrook Place, Uniondale, died Tuesday (Feb. 4., 1986) in Hampstead General Hospital after a short illness.

He was born Sept. 18,1904 in Boston, Mass., son of John F. and Margaret E. HallernSlattery. He married Theresa Phelan, presently of Palm Harbor, Fla.

Mr. Slattery worked at Belmont, Aqueduct and Saratoga racetracks for many years. He was a member of the Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees International Union. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was predeceased by a son, James L. Slattery.

Survivors include: a stepson, Warren F. Law of Stony Creek; four grandchildren; a nephew.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Cecilia's Church, Warrensburg. Spring interment will be in Knowlhurst Cemetery, Stony Creek.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Brewer Funeral Home, Lake Luzerne.
