Word has been received here of the death Aug. 30 of the Rev. Anton Behnken, 76, father of the Rev. Robert A. Behnken of Benton Harbor and pastor of the Van Dyke Baptist church of Warren, Mich., for the past 39 years. Just two weeks prior to his death, the Bev. Mr. Behnken was honored when his congregation dedicated a new 1,000-seat sanctuary t him in a special ceremony. He was born Dec. 11, 1888, and is survived by his widow, Henrietta; five sons, the Rev. Mr. Behnken, pastor of the First Baptist church of Benton Harbor, Harold of Highland Park, Mich., Fred of Huntington Woods, Mich., Henry of Royal Oak and David of Hazel Park; three daughters, Mrs. Russell Anderson of Plymouth Mich., Mrs. Andrew Daniely and Mrs. Thomas Nanney. both of War ren; 20 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in the Van Dyke Baptist church, Nine Mile road at Automobile boulevard. Wednesday at 1 p.m The Rev. Stalev M. Sorrell, also a minister of the church, will officiate. The body is at the Ford funeral home, Van, Dyke avenue, Warren. Ford Funeral Home, 24540 Van Dyke through Tuesday. state Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. time of service at the Varl Dyke Baptist Church, 8207 E 9 Mile.
