Edna M. Alderson Matthews, 82, of 8 Chestnut St. died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 1992, at Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville.

Born March 22, 1910, in Aledo to Roy and Hazel Sowder Dellitt, she married Forrey E. Alderson in 1929. He died in 1948. She later married Harry E. Matthews on Aug. 11, 1951. He died Jan. 24, 1986. Surviving are one son, Jack D. Alderson of Galesburg; one stepson, James Matthews of Emmett, Idaho; one brother, Everett Dellitt of Aledo; and two sisters, Irene Dellitt of Peoria and Shirley Prosten of Aldeo.

She was a bookkeeper at Sears Roebuck & Co. in Galesburg and Cicero. She later worked at District Furniture in Chicago.

Cremation has been accorded. Graveside services will be at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Galesburg.
