Lorraine Adams (Melos), 75, of Manson, Washington, passed away on May 5, 2017. She was born in Cle Elum, Washington, on March 23, 1942, to Joe and Mary Melos (Birchall). Lorraine graduated from Cle Elum-Roslyn High School in 1960. After high school, she worked as a switchboard operator in Cle Elum. In 1963, she married her high school sweetheart, John Adams. That same year, they moved to Kirkland, Washington, where they resided until retiring to Chelan, Washington, in 2002. Lorraine worked in the Lake Washington School District for over 20 years. She enjoyed working with kids, as well as the teachers and staff, at several different schools as a para-educator, assistant coach, and office staff. John and Lorraine raised three sons in Kirkland, Washington, but enjoyed their frequent visits back to Roslyn and Cle Elum. After their children became adults, they decided to purchase a cabin near Lake Cle Elum, where the family could gather. She was very proud of her family and enjoyed doting on her grandkids. Lorraine enjoyed quilting, reading, playing Bunko, and Barstool Bingo at the Apple Cup in Chelan, Washington. She loved playing Mexican Train, especially if she was winning! She was passionate about her role as community volunteer and was active in the Eagles, Chelan Newcomers Group, Newcomer Group Litter Pick Up Crew, Habitat for Humanity Thrift Store, First Fridays, Winterfest, Manson Apple Blossom Festival, Lighting Committee, Quilt Shows, Wapato Point Cellars, Lake Chelan Winery, and many others. She was always willing to lend a hand. Lorraine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John, her parents; and her brother-in-law, Charles Adams,The family wishes to thank all her amazing caregivers at Central Washington Hospital. A Celebration of Lorraine's life will be held from noon to 3:00 PM on June 2, 2017, at the Lake Chelan Eagles.
