Ethel King, 90, of Fairview, died Monday, Oct. 11, 1999, at Wishing Well Health Center. She was born Nov. 17, 1908, at Flat Run, Marion County, daughter of the late Simon and Vianna J. Jones Mayfield.

She was a member of Wesley Methodist Church in Fairview, WCTU and WSCS. She enjoyed quilting and baking, worked in church activities, and was a custodian at Fairmont State College.

She is survived by her husband, Jesse Reed King; two sons and a spouse, Wendell and Betty King, of Courtland, Ohio, and Weldon King, of Fairview; a daughter and spouse, Gwendolyn and Steve Konya, of Fairmont; two sisters, Marie Batson, of Barrackville, and Mrs. Junior (Ruby) McCann, of Mannington; five grandchildren, Christina Zukowsky, Steve Konya II, Holly Swartz, Kelly Boggia and Kristal King; and two great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Emmitt Mayfield, Otis Mayfield and Leo Mayfield, and five sisters, Ines Mayfield, Cresse Mayfield, Bessie Taylor, Pearl Blatt and Opal Arthur.

Friends may call at Domico Funeral Home Curry Chapel, Fairview, from 2-9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, until 10 a.m. service with the Rev. Larry Harker officiating. Burial will be in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
