Johann Friederich Krosch came to America in July 1854 from Gössnitz, Germany. He had a farm north of Mukwonago for many years. His daughter Henrietta married a young blacksmith named Philipp Treutel and settled in Mukwonago and later North Prairie. Mr. Krosch is buried alongside some of the earliest pioneers of Waukesha County.

Frederick Krosch was born in Saxony in 1799. On May 10, 1824, he married Johanna Christiana Schlagel in the Lutheran church at Salzwedel, Germany. Six children were born to the marriage. Some of his children moved west and settled near Blue Earth, Minnesota, while others established farms in Walworth County, Wisconsin.
