OBITUARY
Kenneth Ray "Bubba Honey" Akers, 55 of Atlanta, Texas passed away on September 29, 2020 at St. Michael's Hospital in Texarkana, TX. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Vivian Nazarene Church in Vivian, Louisiana, officiated by Rev. John Ford. Burial will follow at Munnerlyn Chapel Cemetery in Ida, Louisiana. There will be a time of visitation before the service from 12:00 PM – 2: 00 PM at Vivian Nazarene Church.

Bubba Honey was born on March 4, 1965 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Bruce and Lois Williams Akers. He lived in Atlanta, TX most of his life and was a member of Walnut Hill Baptist Church in Vivian, LA. He loved 60's music, trains and kitty cats. He enjoyed drinking Diet Dr. Pepper, and eating banana pudding and McDonald's apple pies. He loved everyone and he never met a stranger.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Lois Williams Akers, maternal grandparents, Tracy and Tessie Williams, paternal grandparents, McKinley and Melissie Akers, sister, Beverly Elaine Akers, and his brother, Paul D. Akers. He is survived by his brother, Bruce Wayne Akers and wife Wa of Mesquite, TX, his 2 sisters, Patsy A. Leach and husband Olivan of Palestine, TX, Linda A. Myers and husband Randy Morris of McLeod, TX half-sister, LaVonne Thacker and husband Rubin of Pikeville, KY. He is also survived by his nephew, Chris Leach, his nieces, Octavia Shepard, Hayley Myers, and Kristen Chaplin, and several great-nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Chris Leach, Quade Leach, Kendall Leach, Ronnie Chaplin, Cliff Hughes and Randy Morris.
