Mr. Chambers was born on December 23, 1927 in Bucu, Virginia to the late James and Cordella White Chambers. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Arthur and three sisters, Frankie, Delolas and Olivine. He was formerly a pastor of several Assembly of God Churches, and he was a veteran of the United States Army.
Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Thelma C. Chambers; three sons, Larry Chambers (Tracy), Douglas Chambers (Sharon) and Geronima Chambers (Tessie); two daughters, Mary Ann Ferrill (Bill) and Elizabeth Patterson (Larry); two brothers, Carl Chambers (Ann) and Parkus Chambers (June); eight grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
