Joseph J. Carty, 65, of 200½ E. Oak St., died Monday at Millville Hospital after a lengthy illness.

A former painter and lamp worker, Mr. Carty was a well-known area banjo player. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church.

Surviving are his wife, Anna Carty; a son, Joseph J. Carty, Jr. of Millville; and one grandchild.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Christy Funeral Home with a viewing from 1 to 2 p.m. Interment will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
