MINDEN, LA - Funeral services for Mr. Roy Rupert Arthur, 70, will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, July 12, 1999 at the Shiloh Baptist Church near Springhill, LA with burial in the Shiloh Cemetery. Services under the direction of Bailey Mortuary, Plain Dealing.
Mr. Arthur, a native of Plain Dealing and a resident of Minden, passed away Saturday, July 10, 1999 in Minden after a long illness. He was a U.S. Army veteran, retiring with 23 years service. He was a member of the Plain Dealing Presbyterian Church and was a former employee of Coyle Engineering Company.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey S. and Lydia Mae McGuffy Arthur; daughter, Deborah A. Vines; and son, Dewey Leroy Arthur.
He is survived by his wife, Eloise Arthur; sons, David Michael Arthur of Bossier City, and Robert Dewayne Arthur of Taylor, LA; brother, Grover C. Arthur of Dubberly, LA; sister, Ivy Christine Grice of Shreveport, LA; six grandchildren; one great grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Scott, Romie Pope, Kenny Wilson, Troy Wilson, Gary Burgess, Tom McGuffy, Wayne Thompson.
Visitation will begin today at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
