Stevens, Nona Merle passed away peacefully on February 3, 2014. Born August 9, 1915, in Greenville, Texas, Merle was the middle of seven daughters. A fashionable woman of spunk and wit, Merle was especially fond of hats, bridge, and the Dallas Cowboys. She retired from the Texas Department of Human Resources in 1980 after 28 years of service. She is survived by her sister, Wanda Wright, her son-in-law, Phil Davis, her grandson, Jordan Davis and wife, Natalie Davis, and two great-grandchildren, Avery Davis and Brennan Davis. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Maureen Tolbert, Nell Hight, Wyulah Abbott, Bobbie Andrews, and Ronnie Rowe; her son, Grady Paul Stevens; and her daughter, Linda Stevens Davis. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 7, 3:00 pm, at Ellis Chapel at Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas.
