Dorothy Marie Beesley, 86, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2007, at Ransom Memorial Hospital, Ottawa. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona.

She was born Feb. 23, 1921, at Berryton to Frank Joseph and Annie Pearl (Lue) Stansbury.

She lived at Williamsburg, Carbondale and Topeka. She also lived at the Richter community and Pomona. She moved to Ottawa October 2006.

She graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1939.

She was a former member of the Williamsburg United Methodist Church and Junior Judgers 4-H Club leader and a member of the Richter United Methodist Church, Richter United Methodist Women and Harmony Homes HDU.

She worked as a linotype operator and proof-reader at the Ottawa Times. She retired August 1983.

She married James K. Beesley Aug. 17, 1945, at Topeka. He preceded her in death April 25, 1988.

Survivors include a daughter, Jo Anne Willford, and her husband, Ronnie, Belle Plaine; a sister, Ruth Carlson, Ottawa; a brother, Bob Stansbury, Eufaula, Okla.; a daughter-in-law, Kathie Beesley, Washington; a grandson, James Carl "J.C." Beesley, Las Vegas, Nev.; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She also was preceded in death by sons, Dr. Jim Beesley and Mike Beesley; a sister, Susie McClelland; brothers, George Stansbury, Thomas Stansbury, Lue Stansbury, Frank Stansbury and Leslie Stansbury; and a companion, Ronnie Barlow.
