He was born May 11, 1929, to Carl M. and Avis V. (Lowry) Barnhart at Wayside.
He graduated from high school.
He worked at the Coffeyville refinery.
He married Marilyn Bell. He divorced. He married Gail Holder. She preceded him in death. He married Frederica LeRoy. She survives of the home.
Survivors also include sons, Jack Barnhart, Pomona, and Rick Barnhart, Havana; a daughter, Lucinda Mecom, Coffeyville; a brother, Ray Barnhart, Independence; a sister, Kay Posey, Independence; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren
