Mrs. E. Frances (Burr) Lent, formerly of New London, N.H., and Readsboro, Vt., died Thursday, March 23, at the Sweetbrook Nursing Home where she was admitted on March 3. Death followed about two years of failing health. She was the widow of Guy Leland Lent whom she married on August 27, 1920. He died on August 14, 1963. She also was the mother of Barbara Coe, the North Adams Transcript's reporter for the town of Readsboro, Vt. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., a daughter of the late John Morris Burr and Henrietta (Gibbs) Burr. She moved to Norwalk, Conn., as a child with her family and was educated in schools there, including the Norwalk High School. She was employed with the Connecticut Light and Power Company in Norwalk until her marriage to Mr. Lent. She then moved to Greenwich, Conn., where she was employed with Fawcett Publications for more than 25 years until her retirement in 1970. Following her retirement, she was a resident of New London, N.H., and Readsboro, Vt. Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Lent Carr of New London, N.H., and Barbara Lent Coe of Heartwellville, Vt.; two sisters, Dorothy Burr Brunjes of Norwalk and Edith Burr Pegg of Stratford, Conn.; seven grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and 11 great-grandchildren. Four brothers and a sister are deceased.
