"On last Friday morning at 1 o'clock at her home 3 miles east of this city, the death angel came to her and took "Aunt" Amanda Price away to Heaven. She lived to the ripe old age of 77 and leaves nine children and something near 100 grand children and great- grandchildren to mourn her absence. In the years agone she gave her heart to God and at the time of her death was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist church. In the presence of a large assembly at her home, the funeral service was conducted by Rev. I. H. Anding, of Summit, Rev. J. L. Price and the writer
taking part in same.

On the night of January 15, 1903, the death angel came to the home of our beloved sister, Amanda Price, and called her away to heaven. She was born in 1825, was married to Emanuel Price December 21, 1843. She was the mother of ten children, sixty seven grandchildren and forty eight great grandchildren, who survive to mourn her loss, She was burried in the family graveyard at her old home on the 17th, a large assemblage attending the funeral which was conducted by Rev. I. H. Anding, of Summit, Rev. J. L. Price, of Norfield, and Rev. J. A. Scarborough, of Bogue Chitto.
She united with Fair River Baptist Church about 1842, being baptized by Rev Shade Coker. At the time of her death she was a member of Pleasant Hill Church. She was a devoted Christian, a kind and affectionate mother, and was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. As a church we extend our hearts sympathy to the bereaved family and relatives: Our loss is Heaven's gain. Not
our will but God's will be done. Her spirit smiles from that bright shore; And softly whispers "weep no more."
