Mabel Mae (HALL) FOSTER is my maternal grandmother. She was the last of twelve children of Jacob HALL(1849) and Wilhelmina "Minnie" ZILIUS(1853). Her parents were German immigrants. Mabel lived her entire life in Huntingdon.

When Mabel was eleven years old, her 26 year old brother Charley died in a railroad accident while he was working as a brakeman.

She was united in marriage to Cloyd Franklin FOSTER Sr. on September 30, 1919 after she patiently waited for him to return from military service in France in World War I. They had four children:

1. France Elizabeth FOSTER (1920-2008)
2. Living FOSTER
3. Cloyd Franklin Jr. (1924-1999)
4. Helen Kathleen "Kathy" FOSTER(1929-2008)

She was a very religious woman, her obituary states that she had a 50 year perfect attendance record at the 15th Street Methodist church in Huntingdon. She played the church's organ for many years, and also taught Sunday School.

She died in a nursing home in Belleville, Mifflin County. Accompanied by my mother, I visited her there at the nursing home one time.
