A native of Milltown, born June 9, 1934, he was the son of the late Harry (Jake) and Wilma Stephenson Crecelius.
He attended Milltown United Methodist Church and was a member of The Family Of God. He was a self-employed welder.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert (Butch) Crecelius, a brother, Shirley (Red) Crecelius, and a sister, Marie Johnson.
Survivors include his wife, the former Vivian Rizer; three sons, Leon Jr. and Ronald Joe Crecelius, both of Milltown, and Rex Crecelius of Marengo; a daughter, Janie Miller of Milltown; two brothers, Gene Crecelius of Hardinsburg and Gerald Crecelius of Arizona; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral was Sunday, April 25, at Milltown United Methodist Church with burial in Batman Ridge Cemetery near Milltown. Pastor Scott Wilson officiated. Brown-Newkirk Funeral Home in Milltown handled the arrangements.
