John leaves his wife of 29 years, Linda (Lovely) Maguire and many cousins. He was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, son of the late John F. and Susan (Lyons) Maguire Sr. John lived in Northborough for the past 40 years. Years ago, Mr. Maguire graduated from Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, and worked there as an X-ray Technician. John also graduated from Quinsigamond Community College and went on to earn his M.A. degree in Education from Worcester State College. He taught at the Southbridge Middle School for several years, retiring in 2010. John served the town of Northborough for 20 years as Town Commissioner for the Boy Scouts of America Algonquin Council. He was actively involved in scouting throughout his life.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 26, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St. Northborough. John's funeral will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home.
