Mrs. Coleman was born in Halifax County August 12, 1954, to Iola Garrett Collins and the late George L. Collins Sr. and was married to Arthur Coleman.
Survivors include her husband of Scottsburg; one son, Derrick Coleman of Halifax; two grandchildren, Da’Nesha Coleman of Halifax and DeVontae Powell of Clover; her mother of South Boston; three sisters, Mattie Owen of South Boston, Mamie Foster of Randolph, and Annie Traynham of Nathalie.
One brother, George L. Collins Jr. and one granddaughter, Da’Quashia Coleman, also preceded Mrs. Coleman in death.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow, September 22, at 1 p.m. at Bethel Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. William Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the home of her husband, 8031 MacDonald Road, Scottsburg
