Mrs. Violet Virginia "Jean" Lesch died Thursday at her home after a long illness.
She was born Oct. 22, 1925, in Vandalia, Mo., and had been a resident of Lawrence since 1943.
Mrs. Lesch worked for Drs. Kenneth and John Wertzberger and William Bailey as an insurance specialist from 1980 to 1987. She also worked as an admissions supervisor at Lawrence Memorial Hospital from 1964 to 1980, and as a supervisor at Southwestern Bell from 1943 to 1964.
Mrs. Lesch was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
She married Frank W. Lesch on Sept. 19, 1947, in Lawrence. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Linda Rose Eckman, Baldwin, and Shirley Jean Wittebort, Lawrence; one brother, Ray Amonett, Pascaguola, Miss.; and five grandchildren.
