Mrs. Lillian Marie Leineweber Courtney, age 87, of Madison, Indiana, was born on September 25, 1918 in Jefferson County, Indiana in Shelby Township. She was the daughter of Frank G. and Clara Vawter Leineweber. She married Charles William "Bill" Courtney on September 3, 1938 in Scottsburg, Indiana and they were later blessed with two sons. Mrs. Courtney lived in the Madison community most all of her life with the exception of the time they spent in Tacoma, Washington during World War II while Mr. Courtney was in the Navy. Mrs. Courtney was a full time homemaker sharing 61 years of marriage with her late husband and raising their two children, Charles W. Courtney, Jr. and James Michael Courtney, both of Madison, Indiana. Mrs. Courtney enjoyed making pies and cakes, painting, outdoor activities, gardening, animals, and caring for other people. Lillian died Monday, September 17, 2007, at 8:15 am at the Thornton Terrace Health Campus in Hanover, Indiana.

Mrs. Courtney will be missed by her sons: Charles William Courtney, Jr. of Madison, Indiana and James Michael Courtney & his wife: Patricia of Madison, Indiana; her sisters: Gertrude Cousins of Eustis, Florida and Betty Tucker of Bradenton, Florida; her brother: James F. Leineweber of Madison, Indiana; her grandchildren: Keith Courtney & his wife: Dariel; Kevin Courtney & his wife: Cathy; Kimberly Courtney; Aaron Courtney; her great grandchild: Austin Kate Courtney; several nieces, nephews & other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Charles William "Bill" Courtney, Sr.; three brothers: Bobby, Harley and Graham Leineweber; her sister Ruby Pearl Louden.


FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 21, 2007 at 11:00 am, by the Rev. Troy Hedges at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive, Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Grandview Memorial Gardens, Madison, Indiana.


VISITATION
Friends may call Thursday from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm & Friday after 9:00 am until time of the service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive, Madison, Indiana.


MEMORIAL EXPRESSIONS
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Westfork Baptist Church in memory of Mrs. Courtney. Cards are available at the funeral home.
