Frances Virginia McGrew, 69, of Westminster, died Saturday morning, Aug. 25, 1990, in Hampstead after an extended illness. Bom in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late George and Rose Spence. She was the wife of the late William Harold McGrew Sr. who died in 1982. Mrs. McGrew was a registered nurse, a homemaker, and a member of St. John Catholic Church in Westminster. Surviving is one son, William H. McGrew Jr. of Pennsylvania; three daughters, Kathleen Deannie Frances Kurtz of Hampstead, Nora Josephine Andalora of Westminster and Mary Patricia Bernier of Texas; one brother. Nelson Spence of Baltimore; two sisters, Mary Waters and Anne Kaulfuss, both of Baltimore; and 12 grandchildren. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster, with the Rev. Monsignor Joseph C. Antoszewski as the celebrant. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster. A Christian Wake service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Carroll County Unit, Box 824, Westminster, Md., 21157.
