Mr. J. Axton, sen., at the ripe age of 83 years. He had been ailing for some time, so his death was not unexpected. He had been a resident of the district for over 60 years. He leaves a widow and two sons to mourn their loss. The funeral took place on Thursday afternoon in the St. Peter's Cemetery, the Rev. C. II. Shedden officiating. There was a large attendance. The chief mourners were the two sons and grandsons.
