Leon D. Davis died at home on Oct 6, 2020.

He was born in Utica on Sept. 15, 1949 to the late Jack M. Davis and Helen Fallon Davis. Leon graduated from the Town of Webb School in 1967 and from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1971. He served his country for over ten years as a: Platoon Leader at a nuclear missile base at Fort Tilden, NY; Communications Detachment Commander along the Korean DMZ; Test Officer at the cold regions test center at Fort Greely, Alaska; and Club Officer at Fort Campbell where he met Marilyn Leader. After leaving the Army, he returned to Old Forge, ran Tote's Tea House, and then worked for Mark Hannah at the Adirondack League Club.

Leon was predeceased by his brother, William G. Davis, his sister Mary Claire Wolfson, and his beloved friend Marilyn Leader.

Leon is survived by his sister Elaine Anderegg of Lee Center, sister-in-law Joan Davis of Owego, and brother-in-law Lennard (Sharon) Wolfson of Bluffton, S. C. Also, his nieces Karen (Bradley) Rowland and Elizabeth (Darren) Wolfson and his nephews Jason (Megan) Anderegg, and Christopher (Kathy) Wolfson and four great-nephews.

Leon is also survived by Marilyn Leader's children, Lenny Leader and Lisa Monroe and Lisa's son Luke.

Leon was a kind and gentle man, passionate about the Adirondacks. While Leon enjoyed family gatherings, campfires, and visiting with friends, his greatest joys were canoeing on Little Safford with Marilyn and walking through the woods with his dog.

In respect for his wishes, no public service will be held. Arrangements are with Dimbleby Funeral Homes, Inc., 128 Fern Ave., Old Forge.

Donations may be made to the Stevens-Swan Humane Society, 5664 Horatio St., Utica, NY 13502 in Leon's memory.
