Martha Nunnelley Carroll, 91, of Campbellsburg, passed away on Friday, June 22, 2007 at Baptist Northeast Hospice Center. Daughter of the late Isaac Christian and Eliza Collins Nunnelley Smith, Martha was a member of the New Castle Baptist Church, where she was the oldest living member. Martha graduated from Georgetown College and was involved with the alumni. She retired in 1976 from the New Castle Elementary School after 31 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe C. Carroll, and one brother, L. Key Smith.
She is survived by one daughter: Pryor Carroll, Campbellsburg; a granddaughter: Stacey Croxton Raisor and husband, Howard "Junebug", Campbellsburg and great-granddaughter: Sydnie Joe Raisor, Campbellsburg.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Monday, June 25, 2007 at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home, officiated by Dr. Dave Charlton, pastor of the New Castle Baptist Church. Burial was in the New Castle Cemetery.
