Sy H. Pace, 74, of Albany died Sunday at his home.

He was born in Los Angeles to Henry and Grace (Brown) Pace. His family lived in Monroe for many years, and he graduated from Harrisburg High School.

He married Connie Stone in Harrisburg on March 28, 1952, and shortly thereafter entered the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

After his discharge, he moved to Albany and went to work for the U.S. Postal Service as a rural mail carrier for 37 years before retiring. Sy then began a second carrier as a real estate broker and eventually owned and operated Sy Pace Realty in Albany. He was a member of the Albany Eagles Club and served as secretary for 15 years.

Sy was devoted to his family, friends and community in general. He loved to play cards and enjoyed traveling.

He is survived by wife Connie of Albany; daughters Jennifer Smith and husband Dave of Anchorage, Alaska, and Jan Davidson and husband Tom of Biggs Junction; two grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be Thursday at the Albany Eagles Club.
