1955 & 1956 German 250cc Motorcycle Champion. Born in Betzingen, son of a physican. He began to race in international races on a 250cc Victoria in 1947 before moving in 1952 to a 500cc BMW. In 1954 he became a factory rider for NSU when he raced their 125cc and 250cc Sportsmax machines. During the 1956 Czechoslovakian Grand Prix at Brno, he crashed his private 250cc NSU into trees and was killed.Motor sport legend. Born in Betzingen. His father was a local general practitioner (M.D.). He had a fatal accident while racing in the Grand Prix of Brünn (Czech Republic) at the age of 34.
