Rosemary L. (Cross) Allen, age 74 of Overland Park, KS passed away July 17, 2013, at home from lung cancer. Rosemary grew up in Kansas City, MO., and attended North Kansas City High School, class of 1956, and was elected the "year book queen" her senior year. As a child, Rosemary trained as a ballet dancer. After high school she attended William Jewel College and was a member of the Beta Sigma Omicron sorority. She was a 1st grade teacher at Summerset grade school and worked as a substitute teacher for the Shawnee Mission School District until 1975. Rosemary also worked at Hayward's Pit BBQ, Allen's Van and Storage Co., and Hillcrest Church preschool. Rosemary loved her pets, old musicals, flowers, and the lake by her home. Rosemary was a member of the Kansas City Ski Club, and attended The Village Church and more recently the First Church of the Nazarene.

Rosemary is preceded in death by her father Ed Cross, mother Rosemary Hartman-Tardino, brothers Wade Henderson of Texas, Mark and John Cross. She is survived by her husband [name omitted] of the home. Daughters [names omitted], her stepson [name omitted], stepmother [name omitted] and brother [name omitted]. Her three grandchildren, [names omitted], as well as her cat "Cuddles." The family will have a private graveside service at the Lenexa Cemetery. Visitation will be July 27, 2013 from 6-8pm at McGilley and Hoge Memorial Chapel 8024 Santa Fe Dr. Overland Park, KS 66204.
