Eudean was united in marriage to Patricia Sweany on November 11, 1973. She preceded him in death on January 31, 1997.
During his time in Utah, Eudean began welding and building stock racecars. Eudean worked for Miller Welding Company for over 20 years and later became shop foreman. His main work was to repair welding equipment and teaching others his trade skills throughout the company. He enjoyed reading westerns, going to the beach, fishing, and walking on the beach picking up seashells with his wife and kids. Upon the families return to Culbertson, Eudean was the owner of the local IGA grocery store. He worked at the Culbertson Coop for several years and was a main stay at coffee after retirement. His hobbies continued after he returned to Nebraska, fishing at the sand pits and especially tinkering in his shop, building many different projects. Eudean liked to tell stories and never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Bernice; wife, Patricia; sister, Melva Hinz; and a niece, Helen Hinz.
Eudean is survived by his daughter, Lisa Colman of Enid, OK; son, Eric and wife, Norma Buzzell, of Lincoln, NE; three grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Alvin Hinz of McCook.
In keeping with Eudean’s wishes of cremation, a memorial service is planned. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Skyline Memorial Cemetery in Portland, OR.
